Twenty-four years ago today, (Troy really robbed the cradle!) I was putting the finishing touches of preparation for my new life together with the man God made for me. Our wedding was not a traditional one, but rather a ceremony right after church, officiated by my father, and witnessed by our church family and friends. It was really just until a few years ago that I thought I might regret not having the large wedding with all the bells and whistles. We were so young and poor (not in our eyes) that we put the money we would of spent on an elaborate wedding towards setting up our first household.

We have quite an interesting story behind our romance which we’d love to share with you anytime. I am ever so grateful for the prayers of my parents which I believe helped direct and save me for the man of my dreams. And I am so humbled and thankful to my heavenly Father for blessing me with the most selfless, caring, loving and FUN man in the world!

Eighteen years ago today, I was beginning to feel the slight pangs of God’s gift of life preparing to make his earthly debut. I remember crying with the onset of those labor pangs, knowing unlike my first birth, what the next several hours lay ahead for me.

At 5:31 P.M. the next day, I was crying again, but this time with indescribable happiness (and relief) of Nate’s arrival. And now, that miracle which seems like just a few eye blinks ago, is proclaiming my baby an adult. He is ready…I am not.

I am so blessed beyond measure to have the most incredible anniversary present ever..our trust that God has given us and absolute joy and delight…Nathan Trey Kinast.

So, tonight is for celebrating these two awesome and life changing events in my life!!

My sweetie pie. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about…see my crazy auctions entry.

Back to the matter. Yes, Troy won by $10.00 with the vintage Frye boots. It was neck to neck up to the very end. Tomorrow night I will be taking him out for ribs. But this splurge for us is also to celebrate our anniversary and Nate’s b-day!

I will write about those two big events tomorrow so that I can get back to sending my 48 invoices from eBay tonight.

Five minutes and time to check the new WOOT! (woot.com)

A refreshing article in the December 22 World magazine highlights this season’s Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow. He is a 20-year-old sophomore quarterback from the U of Florida and was the first underclassman Heisman recipient in the award’s 73-year history. He began his acceptance speech with this quote: “I’d just like to first start off by thanking my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave me the ability to play football.” Later in his speech, he thanked “my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” a second time and credited his father for instilling in him a strong work ethic.

As parents, there is nothing more rewarding than to hear or read your child(ren)s’ public confession of Jesus Christ being their Lord and Savior. I have been so blessed to have that opportunity last year from both of my children.

Although Seth’s new blog is under construction, he starts his “about me” page saying that he wants his life to glorify his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Nate, in his valedictorian speech at the secular high school he attended, declared Jesus Christ as Lord of his life.

Thank you, Tim Tebow, for not only giving a wonderful example to all of us, but for being the hard-to-find hero that we would like our children to emulate.

Thank you Seth and Nate, for making your parents’ hearts burst with joy in your continual confession of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Every morning I wake up to a few online devotions, thought for the day and verse for the day. After looking through over a hundred pages of sunrises last night to choose for my blog, this verse really came alive for me.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1

We are surrounded with the magnificent displays of God’s craftsmanship! To say that the universe came about by chance is absurd. Make sure and take time to watch a sunrise or sunset and let His awesome handiwork remind you of your Creator’s power and gift of beauty to us!

I have 52 items up for auction right now on eBay. I invite anyone to shop or stalk!

It really has been a fun run as we have had continual bidding everyday. Troy and I have made our picks on which item will go for the highest. For the record, his pick is the ladies vintage Frye boots and mine is the Z-coils. Of course, there is a rib dinner for the winner. The nice thing about it is, if he wins I take him out for all-you-can-eat ribs and if I win he takes me out for all-you-can-eat ribs. So, I am never sad about loosing or neither is he! I know, we are so goofy! The Dooney doctor bag may make us both losers (based on watchers).

We have our work cut out for us this weekend to package all the stuff up and get it ready to ship. And, sadly, we have to get Seth ready to ship out on Sunday also. It has gone too incredibly fast as it always does, but at least like I was telling him today, I will see him in a couple of weeks. He is coming home Jan. 24th to take his MCAT in Springfield the 25th. We will go with him and celebrate afterwards with a trip to Incredible Pizza. Of course, that will give him all the motivation that he needs! ;) Aren’t we such cool parents, Seth?

Nate has another week here. He has been working most of his break at the Hershewe Law Firm. I am so thankful for all the opportunities and experiences he has had there…and he kinda likes earning a little pocket change also! He is going to sub for his dad next Friday so that Troy can take me for our anniversary to go do one of my favorite things. But, I will talk about our anniversary and mushy stuff later when the time draws closer. You don’t know how proud I am that both of my boys can take over for their dad at school. In fact, Seth helped Troy grade his finals which saved him hours of work! The Kinast Men are definitely the mean math machines!!

Well, thanks to my awesome son, Seth, I now have a blog. This is something I should of done years ago. Or, as my Mom would always say, “you should really be writing all the your experiences down so you don’t forget them.”

I have never been one to journal, and yes, if I had it to do all over again, I would have. But, I will not dwell on that thought… and forge ahead…and hopefully make this a daily routine of my ramblings.

Thank you again Seth for hanging there with me while I found the perfect sunrise!
